Studio Contract

Practicing

  • Daily Practice: All students are encouraged to practice daily. The recommended practice time may vary based on age and can be discussed with me individually.
  • Practice Chart: Students can use a practice chart to keep track of their practice habits.
  • Sticker Chart: A sticker chart encourages children to meet their practice goals.

Performances

  • Annual Recitals: There are two yearly recitals:
    • Christmas Recital: Held in December.
    • End-of-School Year Recital: Held in May.
  • Lesson Replacement: Recital weeks will replace regular lessons for that week.

Billing and Fees

  • Monthly Fee: $80 per student for 30-minute weekly lessons. The monthly rate remains the same even on 5-week months.
  • Books: Students/parents must purchase books before the first lesson and a few weeks in advance as the student progresses. A list of the books and where to buy them is provided at piercepiano.org.
  • Materials Fee: $10 for binders and materials for tracking progress.
  • Payment Schedule: Payments are due in full by the first lesson of each month.
  • Monthly Rate: The monthly fee remains the same, regardless of the number of weeks.
  • Payment Methods: I accept PayPal, Venmo, checks, or cash.
    • Venmo/PayPal: Select the friend option, not the merchant option.
  • Non-refundable: All fees paid are non-refundable.

Lesson Details

  • Fifth Week Lessons: Lessons on the fifth week can serve as make-up lessons for previously missed lessons.
  • Vacation: Planned vacations will not affect the average of four monthly lessons. I will give advanced notice and work to reschedule lessons during my limited vacation time.
  • No Refunds: No refunds for missed lessons, regardless of the situation.
  • Rescheduling: Rescheduling requests will be accommodated when possible but are not guaranteed.
  • Advance Notice: Notify me if you will miss a lesson to qualify for a make-up lesson.
  • Make-up Deadline: Make-up lessons must be completed within four weeks of the missed lesson.
  • No-shows: No make-ups for no-shows.
  • Make-up Policy: Once a make-up lesson is scheduled, it cannot be rescheduled again.
  • Illness: Try to reschedule if the student is sick.

Termination of Lessons

  • Notice Requirement: Please provide a month’s notice if you plan to stop taking lessons. This allows me to fill the slot from the waiting list.

  • Liability: Pierce Piano Studio is not responsible for bodily injuries or personal belongings left at the studio.
  • Media Release: I agree to allow Pierce Piano Studio to take photographs, videos, and/or recordings of my child or me during lessons, recitals, or other events for promotional use, including on the website, Instagram, or Facebook page.
